Alexis Stephens

Alexis Stephens was enrolled in her first dance class at the age of three. She has studied extensively in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip hop, and dance theatre. She feels grateful to have been able to learn from so many highly renowned instructors over the years, but she gives credit to Olga Tarasova for having had the deepest influence. After high school, Alexis continued her choreographic and performance pursuits at Arizona State University, where she graduated in 2015 with her BFA in Dance/Dance Education. While she attended ASU, Alexis was awarded several academic and dance talent scholarships. Upon completion of the program, she was honored to receive a certificate from the School of Dance for “Outstanding Achievement in Performance.”

Throughout her dance career, Alexis has trained closely with the dancers and instructors from Museffect, Catastrophe!, and River North Dance. She has performed professionally with Epik Dance Company, Halo Movement Collective, Scorpius Dance Theatre, and several other local artists in the valley. She starred as “Eve” in A Vampire Tale, “Malina” in All in the Heir and “Tweedle-Dee” in Underland: A White Nightmare. She has also performed crucial roles in Savage Beauty, Memoriam, Cell, and Dreaming in Water. She currently teaches and shares her passion for dance with her students at INSPIRE Entertainment, Dynamic Motion Dance Academy, and Freedom Danceworks. Alexis wishes she didn’t have to write a biography (lol) because she truly believes that dance is more than what we do. It’s about how we do it and who we get to share it with. 🙂
